"Rock The Boat"

Sandglass Theatre's Production of "Rock The Boat"

The brilliant titled production Rock the Boat has my mind lingering. Saturday, February 20th, Norfolk Library
hosted Sandglass’ production of Rock the Boat accompanied by a Q & A with the cast after performance. This puppet
show was my first experience with virtual production, and I was not disappointed! The story follows a poet on a boat on
a quest to write the best poem ever. The adventure unravels at sea by addressing relocation, displacement, the
interconnectedness of racial climate and social justice. Yet the production shares a story of hope and togetherness. The
title is so fitting because it shows how rocky life can be, and how our beliefs can change over time. Families will enjoy
the excitement as the characters dance to life appreciating the life we have and giving a different perspective of another
life. Check out some highlights from the video clip below. Make sure to check out Norfolk Library for more events!
