Torrington civil rights Mural: A New Dawn

In 2021, multiple Torrington organizations joined forces to create the Torrington Civil Rights Mural on the side of the WAPJ building at 42 Water St.

This mural is part of the MLK39: Racial Equity Mural Tour, which aims to install 39 murals across Connecticut, one honoring each year of Dr. Martin Luther King’s life.

The program was developed by RiseUP for the Arts, a nonprofit organization based in Hartford, CT.
