The Connecticut Arts Awards: Meet NWCT's Arts Hero

DaSilva Wata • January 17, 2024

Congratulations to Stephanie Ingrassia, NWCT's Arts Hero!

The Connecticut Arts Heroes Awards aim to honor Connecticut residents for their engagement and support of the arts, both publicly and behind the scenes. The celebration of these inspiring individuals aims to reaffirm how the arts play a significant role in CT.

Stephanie and her husband Tim, founded Spring Hill Vineyards in Washington, CT in 2006. She would help to transform the vineyard into a center for community celebrations, becoming the home to a few permanent art instillations and the Spring Hill Arts Gathering (SHAG), a non-profit organization that hosts community events. The SHAG program is dedicated to bringing visual and performing arts, community organizations, and activism to Washington, CT over a festival weekend each year.

From art exhibitions to dance and live music, SHAG is devoted to a diverse program that welcomes the entire community at little to no-cost, graciously opening their property to the community as a center for celebrations throughout the year. They aim to welcome and provide platforms to artists, including artists of color and the LGBT community, at their inspiring landscape by using collaborative efforts to bring their community members together. They partner with different artists and organizations each season to engage their audience and present new and exciting exhibitions.

Join us and the CT Office of the Arts at Infinity Hall in Hartford on January 24, at 6 pm, to help us celebrate these remarkable individuals from across CT. This ceremony is FREE and open to the public!
