Give Local 2018
Northwest Connecticut Arts Council
Participates in Give Local Greater Waterbury Litchfield Hills
April 24-25, 2018
The Northwest Connecticut Arts Council announces its participation in the Connecticut Community Foundation’s fifth consecutive Give Local: Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills online giving event. This year, Give Local begins on Tuesday, April 24 at 7:00 a.m. and ends on Wednesday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. When donors visit artsnwct-give.org to make a donation to the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council during this 36-hour period their donations will be stretched with bonus funds provided by the Connecticut Community Foundation and Give Local Sponsors.
“Give Local has not only offered us an opportunity to raise funds, but has helped us reach new donors who are supportive of the arts in our region. The campaign also allows us to be part of a community-wide awareness effort focused on a variety of valued nonprofits as well as the Connecticut Community Foundation’s role in our region,” said Amy Wynn, executive director of the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council.
In addition to funds donated during Give Local, the Arts Council will be eligible for cash bonus prizes during the campaign. These prizes are time sensitive and the Arts Council plans to update donors through social media and email as to when it is especially affective to give.
The Arts Council’s Leadership Match Circle will also match any donation made to the Council during Give Local and the Council’s Spring Appeal. Thomaston Savings Bank will match all donations up to $1,000 and Torrington Savings Bank will match all donations up to $750.
Since its creation in 2011, Give Local has raised more than $4.5 million for area nonprofits thanks to the generosity of thousands of donors, area businesses and organizations united in giving to make our community stronger. Ion Bank Foundation, as the presenting sponsor for each Give Local event, deserves special thanks for their leadership, generosity and commitment.
