Scenes of Manhattan
Reception: December 17, 5-6:30 pm
Manhattan has been my home for more than five decades. I am drawn to specific - and yet universal – observations of people and places. I have developed a technique using colored inks and oil pastels that produce surprising colors. The vivid hues of the work reveal the soul and character and make intriguing what at first glance might seem to be an ordinary scene. Many of the works in this exhibition were created specifically for this show, including: Times Square in snow, parade for US Women's soccer team, July 4 fireworks, 33rd and 7th at dusk, night at the San Gennaro Festival, the Gapstow bridge during winter, and the R train to Forest Hills.
