Art Exhibit Opening: John Lees, Oils and Watercolors
A native of England and graduate of the Yale University School of Art and Architecture, John Lees spent his career as a highly successful design consultant, working on five continents for institutional, government, and corporate clients. He has been the recipient of numerous awards, including four Presidential Design Awards. In 1989, John began to devote more time to his art. He paints primarily in the Berkshires and other favored spots in New England, Mexico, England, and the Caribbean. Identifying with a long tradition of landscape painting in the United States and Europe, John explores time, light, and the cycle of seasons in his work which is now in over 100 private and corporate collections in Europe and the United States. The exhibit will be on display at the Norfolk Library from August 6 to September 6. An opening reception is hosted by the Norfolk Library Associates on Sunday, August 6, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm..
