The following criteria must be met for a listing to be accepted to the Cultural Directory.
  • The Cultural Directory is open to artists and organizations residing in the Council's 23-town service area within Northwest Connecticut as well as nearby towns in Connecticut and neighboring New York State and Massachusetts.
  • All information and material listed must be accurate, and reasonably current.

If you have questions about these criteria, please contact the Arts Council at info@artsnwct.org.

Additional Information
To save time, consider these four things before you begin:

1. If you haven't already done so, we recommend using the Search feature to become familiar with how the Cultural Directory displays information and how others have composed their listings.

2. BASIC LISTINGS are free and include identifying information, category, and basic contact information.

3. EXPANDED DIRECTORY LISTINGS include all of the basic listing information, as well as a website link, space for a narrative description, and an image. Expanded Directory listings are available to contributing members (i.e. have made a donation through membership to the Arts Council). Before you begin to create your listing, we recommend you have the description copy, and the image you want to use in files on your computer where you can easily find them. The image can be of any size or file format. If you need assistance with how to get your image into electronic format please contact the Arts Council.

4. If you are a CULTURAL ORGANIZATION OR A RELATED BUSINESS,you will be asked if you are a non-profit or a commercial business, if you are incorporated, municipal, or organized informally. You will also be asked for your total annual operating expenses (total of your expenses to operate for a typical year; NOT income). Answers to these questions are not made public, but will help the Council assess economic impact of the cultural community in the region periodically.
