Arts Council to go Over the Edge with Prime Time House & NW CT Chamber Ed Foundation
On Saturday, September 16, 2017 three regional non-profit organizations will bring their ‘fundraising to new heights’ with a unique and thrilling event. Partnering with Over The Edge Global, northwest Connecticut residents will be raising funds and awareness over the next five months for Prime Time House, the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council, and the Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce’s Education Foundation to earn one of the spots to rappel 111 feet down Torrington Towers in September.
This unique event, never before presented in northwest Connecticut, is sponsored by Sharon Hospital and other regional businesses, to be confirmed. The partnering non-profits hosted a Sponsorship breakfast Friday, March 31, at Prime Time House in Torrington where they announced the event publicly for the first time. Various opportunities for sponsorship, and to register to rappel or form a rappel team were shared during the morning presentation. The partners will be hosting Over the Edge kick-off information sessions throughout the region over the next few months, as well.
JoAnn Ryan, president of the Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation, said, “this event will certainly break the mould for fundraisers in our area, which is just what we, along with the Arts Council and Prime Time House, were looking for. It’s different and comes packed with opportunities for awareness building and visibility. It is meant to be something that a broad cross sector of our region’s residents can participate in.”
Peter Cordeau, CEO of Sharon Hospital said, “the hospital is excited to be helping these three worthy non-profits through this wildly, unique event. We know that the services and programs that the Chamber, the Arts Council and Prime Time House provide to our region make a difference in our community. Sharon Hospital is sponsoring Over the Edge Northwest Connecticut because of our own commitment to the region and all that these non-profit organizations do.”
Since 2008, Over the Edge Global has helped non-profits raise more than $45 million and put 25,000 fundraisers safely ‘over the edge’. Now, through its new Community Wide Events program, non-profit organizations in smaller communities like northwest Connecticut can join forces to give their supporters a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rappel among the cheers of family and friends.
Individuals must raise a minimum total of $1,000 for the partnering non-profits to secure their rappelling position. To register or learn more, visit https://otecwe.com/nwct/
